Big Bang is Still Killing It...

...and they haven't even released their album yet.  Craziness. I told myself yesterday that I was going to relax on the Big Bang posts for a bit because I was starting to feel like a Big Bang fansite, not that that's a bad thing.  THEN... they release something like this: "Bad Boy" teaser- Source:  BIGBANG

EXO Is Always At The Airport: A Fashion Retrospective

It's true.... The members of EXO-K and EXO-M are ALWAYS at the airport.  I'm never sure where they're going or what they're going to be doing when they get there, but I'm forever seeing the pics.  There's often some major fashion moments taking place in these pics; some good, some bad but always notable.  Enjoy: This post is image heavy

So You Were Wondering What EXO's "Wolf" & "Growl" Drama Version MVs Are About? Pt. 1

It has come to my attention that people are confused as hell about EXO 's " Wolf " and " Growl " drama version MVs, and have been since they came out.  Well, it's your lucky day, because I'm here to explain the shit out of them for you, in the way I know best: I'm going to tell you a little story.  Fyi, this will be done in two parts, so bear with me.

UPDATED- Video of the Day: Girls' Generation's "I Got a Boy" + Some Fashion

I can't believe I'm about to say this but... I really like SNSD's new song and mv, "I Got a Boy".

Video of the Day: Girls' Generation "I Got A Boy"

I'm shocked right now... I really am.  If you've read this blog, you know I'm reallly not all that into Kpop girl groups, especially not cutesy, extra girly ones like Girls' Generation.  I knew this mv was coming out but I never even paid attention to any of the hype.  I'm not even sure what made me watch it, actually.

What I liked: the choreography, the color pop outfits and the candy colored backgrounds.  In my opinion SNSD hasn't had choreography or a song this good since "Genie".  They even dance it well, with no awkwardness in sight... Whattt?!

Girls' Generation gets low.

You can tell the members of Girls' Generation really had fun filming this mv.  I see lots of geniune smiles and authentically enthusiastic bootie popping going on so color me impressed.  Here I was thinking they couldn't dance.  Guess they were saving it all up for this one.

I also like that the choreography is sexy without straying into the "I'm a stripper" category.  Very nice.

UPDATE:  Husband and wife team Nappy Tabs were the masterminds behind this super fun choreography.  They've done some of my favorite choreography on So You Think You Can Dance and also were the team behind BoA's "Only One".

Nappy Tabs and team with SM's main choreographer Shim Jae Won.

As for the fashion, I like that they veered away from their tried and true pumps-or- knee-high-boots-with-bootie-shorts-and-a-blazer fashion and went with the more up to date '80s and '90s inspired Jeremy Scott/Wildfox Couture/Joyrich type of style that's really big nowadays.

I already spotted some Jeffrey Campbell sneakers and an Adidas x Jeremy Scott jacket and I'm assuming the girls are swathed in all those brands I mentioned and more.

HyunA went for this look and feel in her mv for "Ice Cream" but I actually think the SM stylists did a better job here.  I guess it depends on what you're looking for, whether you're going for the super sexy HyunA look or the fashion forward and cute look of the SNSD girls.

What I disliked:  The many, many tempo changes.  I'm hoping all that was just for the mv and it's not what the official single sounds like.  Crossing my fingers in 3...2...1.  Yes, this means I might actually be downloading song...  Imagine that!

What did you think of the mv?  Should I find more "I Got A Boy" fashion?  Leave me a comment to let me know!

  2. Damn I wrote 2 comments here! I just said that I have to confess to really liking this song and video! Shock, horror! I really love their image it's what I call Tomboy Femme, in fact it's the way my 14 year old dresses. She would love the girls outfits.

I think this could get in the UK charts!

  3. I've been trying to think what this sing reminds me of and it's Wings by Little Mix which was a massive hit here. But actually I prefer "I Got A Boy" especially the video. Much cooler and "younger" looking. The problem in the UK is that all girl bands like The Saturdays, Girls Aloud and Little Mix all end up looking the same, incredibly femme and clone like, whereas SNSD seem to have retained their own personalities.

SHINee Struggles With "Replay" On Music Bank's 700th Anniversary Special

SHINee was on KBS's Music Bank today for the show's 700th Anniversary Special .  The boys performed a special stage of their forever classic " Replay ", along with " Why So Serious? " and if you haven't at least watched the "Replay" stage, you should.  Take a look:

Full Scans + Interview From G-Dragon's Incredible Vogue Korea 17th Anniversary Editorial

Ok I knew that G-Dragon 's editorial for Vogue Korea's 17th Anniversary would be amazing but these kind of exceeded my expectations.  I am in awe of the depth and clarity of Hong Jang Hyun 's photographs and of the stylist's vision.  The makeup artists did a great job too.  I'm not saying I like them more than I like GD's 2009 Vogue Korea editorial but they come pretty close, especially the first photos, which I'm calling "G-Dragon in high fashion grunge Rivendell" (where the elves lived in Lord of the Rings ?  No?  Alright, I'll admit I'm kind of a nerd).  Scroll down for scans of all 32 images and the full interview translation.  You're welcome!
