Oddness/Weirdness

It's SHINee's 5th Anniversary today!  Can you imagine?  This fabulous group of boys have been SHINee for 5 whole years and still going strong.  This boggles my mind because people are always talking about the 5 year curse in Kpop, but  SHINee just keeps getting better and better.  Instead of succumbing to infighting or any of the other woes that other Kpop groups have broken up over, these boys seem to just get stronger.

After releasing their follow up to " Dream Girl " last night,  SHINee went all in today with their comeback stages for " Why So Serious? ".  They also performed their new song " SHINE " AND sang live.  A SM Entertainment group singing live for their first comeback stage?  Whattt?!?  I'm shocked I tell you!

------DISCLAIMER------ I've forgotten about quite a bit of the content I wrote for this blog, and really only get comments on it once in a blue moon in the past 2 or 3 years. I was quite surprised and then quite saddened when I got the first unhappy comment after Jjong's death. The boys of SHINee recorded their performances for the Korean Music Wave Festival in Bangkok on March 16th but the show did not officially air until April 7th.  Way to keep us waiting, people!  These pics have been floating around the 'net for awhile now, and they've just been cluttering up my desktop, so I figured this would be a perfect way to put them to use.  I've also got a few fancams and their actual performance stream, along with Minho's MC cuts.  The best part about Minho being one of the MCs is that he's wearing an extremely odd shirt while he's doing it, and we all know I like to give Minho a hard time, so this is a win/win situation right here.  On with the show!

As usual I have to say that I LOVE Shawols because SHINee 's Lunar New Years special " SHINee's Wonderful Day " aired in Korea today and it's already been uploaded to YouTube in beautiful HD.  Krisbrows7, you are fabulous and thank you. You can watch it below but, just to let you know, it's not subbed yet.  I did hear that there's some Minho speaking in English in it, and no I haven't watched it yet.  I have to post these things as soon as possible, right?   I'll upload the special with English subs as soon as it becomes available.

Today SHINee had the honor of appearing on stage at UMF Korea , or the Ultra Music Festival , with Beatburger .  UMF, which takes place annually, is the world's most famous outdoor electronica festival.  The festival was originally created with a focus on electronica, but it has grown over the years to showcase music from the biggest and best EMD (electronic dance music) artists to crossover EMD artists.  The festival takes place in Miami, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ibiza and Korea, and thousands of people come from all over to attend.  So, to have SHINee perform there is pretty much a big deal.

SHINee has finally dropped their mv for " Everybody " and made their first music show appearance today on MNET's M! Countdown .  Normally I open a post like this with the oft used phrase "SHINee's Back!" and appropriate fangirling but I'm only half feeling their "Everybody" comeback.  Dammit!  I wanted so wanted to love it, but I can't.  I'm going to be completely honest here, because that's what I do on this blog, so brace yourselves:

Earlier this morning, while many of you were still sleeping, SHINee were busy being fabulous at the MNET 20's Choice Awards .  They managed to wow us sartorially and perform the crap out of " Why So Serious ?" and " Beautiful ".  They also won the award they were up for, which was the 20's Performance Award (we knew that would happen... I mean, come on now).  I've got some gorgeous HQ pics, fancams and HD video for you below, so read on.

SHINee has once again proven that they are made of AWESOME.  On July 1st those shining boys were doing their usual at the Hong Kong Dome Festival (which consists of performing in the hot sun in at least 3 layers of clothes each), when a super heavy rain storm started... and they just kept going... while looking like they were having fun.  Nope, I'm not exaggerating.  Check it out:

The boys  men of SHINee are set to cover the October issue of Korea's Arena Homme+ magazine.  They've been featured in many magazines over the years, but this time they're special enough to warrant 5 separate covers for each member.  How fabulous is that?  I'm crossing my fingers that this dark and sexy editorial is a foreshadowing of the concept for their rumored Korean comeback, because this One Direction-ish " Boys Meet U " nonsense has got to go. UPDATED:  With official HQ cover scans and all interviews except Key's. ( Key 's pic goes first because it's still his birthday in the U.S.  Happy Birthday Key!) It is currently the time of year when every kind of site, magazine, radio station, etc., starts making their "Top Whatever of 2012" lists and I wanted to jump in on that bandwagon with my First Annual Top 10 Songs of the Year list.  Of course I have to do it my way, and that entails me asking my friends for their help. My friends and I have been talking about Kpop music and music videos all year, so they're as qualified as I am to make judgements and pronouncements.  In other words, not qualified at all, but hey, that hasn't stopped us yet! I'm about a week late with posting this beautifully shot layout of SHINee's Onew from Singles magazine's October 2012 issue but oh well...
