Big Bang is Still Killing It...

...and they haven't even released their album yet.  Craziness. I told myself yesterday that I was going to relax on the Big Bang posts for a bit because I was starting to feel like a Big Bang fansite, not that that's a bad thing.  THEN... they release something like this: "Bad Boy" teaser- Source:  BIGBANG

EXO Is Always At The Airport: A Fashion Retrospective

It's true.... The members of EXO-K and EXO-M are ALWAYS at the airport.  I'm never sure where they're going or what they're going to be doing when they get there, but I'm forever seeing the pics.  There's often some major fashion moments taking place in these pics; some good, some bad but always notable.  Enjoy: This post is image heavy

So You Were Wondering What EXO's "Wolf" & "Growl" Drama Version MVs Are About? Pt. 1

It has come to my attention that people are confused as hell about EXO 's " Wolf " and " Growl " drama version MVs, and have been since they came out.  Well, it's your lucky day, because I'm here to explain the shit out of them for you, in the way I know best: I'm going to tell you a little story.  Fyi, this will be done in two parts, so bear with me.

Video of the Day: B.A.P's "Badman" MV

The mv for B.A.P's new song, "Badman" was released today and I am sad to say that I am so disappointed in this video and this song.  Is this why they went to Detroit??  Jeezzzzz.  I kind of don't even know what to say, but I'll come up with something, I'm sure.

b.a.p badman mv ending explosion screencap

Why do bad things have to happen to good people?  What a shame.  I like this even less than I liked the "Crash" mv and that's saying a lot.

First things first, why do I get the feeling that Bang Yong Guk had everything to do with this song and mv?  I don't even know all that much about them and yet I know enough that this seems like something he'd write and produce.

This song comes off like BYG tried really hard to make a Nas song but failed miserably.  It was with them until we got to the 1:30 minute mark when it segued into something totally different, and then they lost me.  That's when it started to sound like he was channeling DMX or Biggie, then it changed back into a NAS song, then it became a southern rap song... There's just too much going on once again.

I know (what seems like) every Kpop group is going back to the '90s for their inspirations but sometimes I think they're being a bit too literal in their interpretations, and this one is no exception.

I think this is the first time I'm ever going to say this for a Kpop mv but, why were there so many black people in it?  What's up with all those explosions and shootings and rioting and random people kissing and drug deals gone wrong?  Were they trying to make some sort of statement?  Before anyone jumps to any conclusions, no I'm not offended I'm just bewildered.

This mv seemed to have a story but the story made no sense.  There was no rhyme or reason, it just was.  B.A.P had their faces painted, they were climbing fences, there was parkour, they were dancing in abandonded buildings in striped outfits...  Ohhkay.

Is that BYG?  What is the point of him doing that?  Notice the people to the left staring at him like he's crazy.

Why did all the people just lay down at the end?  I am SO confused.  If this is supposed to be social commentary, please just stop.

Here are the lyrics so you can see why I think they were trying for social commentary:

B.A.P Badman lyrics:

The despair that I hear in the darkness
The world that is ridden with fear

I will overthrow everything
This crazy world
I will change it
All you who close your eyes over money and threats, get out
On the news, everyone’s a public enemy
Psychopaths are crazily flying all over the place
This is a war against crime
I will repay you the exact same way
Tooth for a tooth, eye for an eye, remember those words
There’s no forgiveness in us

I gotta feeling
I can’t hold it in, give it up
I gotta feeling
It’ll be the day you close your eyes

You’re in danger
You messed with the wrong person, get away
Becuz I’m cuz I’m Dangerous

I’m a Badman
I will imprison you in darkness
AH! AH! AH! AH!
See how you’re ridden with fear

I’m a Badman
I will sweep all of you up
Don’t give me any kind of excuse in the end

Badman (yea yea) Badman (yea yea)

Yeah guys, who dares to stop us?
The air in this city is so suffocating
You’ve been wrong since the beginning, come here, I’m serious
I won’t stop till I cut off all the dirty leaves
I won’t yield
You will shed the same tears, you got that?

I gotta feeling
Burn it all up, burn it up
I gotta feeling
It’ll be the day you cry out

You’re in danger
You’ve reached the end, get away
Becuz I’m cuz I’m Dangerous

I’m a Badman
I will imprison you in darkness
AH! AH! AH! AH!
See how you’re ridden with fear

I’m a Badman
I will sweep all of you up
Don’t give me any kind of excuse in the end

Badman (yea yea) Badman (yea yea)

Why do you keep provoking me?
Now kneel down
I don’t like you
When I see you, I lose control
Badman

Why do you keep provoking me?
Now kneel down
I don’t like you
When I see you, I lose control
Badman

When you see us, please run away
Because we will never leave you alone

I’m a Badman
I will imprison you in darkness
AH! AH! AH! AH!
See how you’re ridden with fear

I’m a Badman
I will sweep all of you up
Don’t give me any kind of excuse in the end

You know what though?  I do have some nice things to say.  They all looked really cute and I liked Zelo's rap.  If they'd made that part into a separate song I would've been happy with that.

Daehyun is looking damned good.

I have some words for B.A.P and TS Entertainment:

Ok guys, seriously... It's time for you to take a break.  You are now past the point of oversaturation and I'm going to need for you to go away for a few months or so, so we can miss you for once.  Come up with something really good for the next album and blow us away please.  If you keep going the way you are you will just make people start to think you're mediocre, and you're not.  I know you can do better than this!  I know it.  Go away, and then come back better than ever.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Fan

  1. Excuse me, even you don't like this song you dont need to insult them like you're a pro artist or anything? Do you even know how much effort those artists made to make a comeback?

  2. I'm definitely not a pro artist and I wasn't insulting them, I don't think. I'm just a woman with a blog and an opinion. I regularly ask people to let me know what their thoughts are in the comments and everyone is free to disagree or agree with me as they see fit. I'm quite sure that people can form their own opinions, as people are known to do, right?

SHINee Struggles With "Replay" On Music Bank's 700th Anniversary Special

SHINee was on KBS's Music Bank today for the show's 700th Anniversary Special .  The boys performed a special stage of their forever classic " Replay ", along with " Why So Serious? " and if you haven't at least watched the "Replay" stage, you should.  Take a look:

Full Scans + Interview From G-Dragon's Incredible Vogue Korea 17th Anniversary Editorial

Ok I knew that G-Dragon 's editorial for Vogue Korea's 17th Anniversary would be amazing but these kind of exceeded my expectations.  I am in awe of the depth and clarity of Hong Jang Hyun 's photographs and of the stylist's vision.  The makeup artists did a great job too.  I'm not saying I like them more than I like GD's 2009 Vogue Korea editorial but they come pretty close, especially the first photos, which I'm calling "G-Dragon in high fashion grunge Rivendell" (where the elves lived in Lord of the Rings ?  No?  Alright, I'll admit I'm kind of a nerd).  Scroll down for scans of all 32 images and the full interview translation.  You're welcome!
