Gaon Charts Kpop Awards earlier today and unveiled a little surprise:
My first reaction upon seeing these pics this morning was: "Wth?!?" Actually that's not true. My first thought was something about him paying tribute to Cruella Deville.
Doesn't GD have a similar jacket?
Oh right, it's got faces on it but close enough. Divas can be inspired by other divas, right?
I've become so accustomed to GD's ever changing hairstyles that nothing fazes me anymore. Really, the only thing that threw me off was that mass of tangles on the side of his head that appeared later on. Come on, GD. If your hair stylist spent more than $35 for that at the corner weave shop, he or she is fired.
What I don't get is how bent out of shape people are getting. I've even seen comments around the 'net about people being told they're not "true VIPs" if they don't like his hair. Wait, what? When did this new "rule" come into effect? Was this decided before or after GD's (in my opinion) awful weave for the "
Fantastic Baby" comeback period. I seem to remember tons of people thinking that mess was ugly... which it was.
I accepted it though, because I expect GD to look a little crazy. That's part of his charm.
How about how people have been talking shit about Taeyang's hair for the past year or so (including me)? Did we conveniently forget that he looks like a steer that needs to be roped? Oh wait, maybe you did... except not, because it looked even worse today (how is that possible?).

In case you didn't know, there's this newfangled concept called "opinions" in which you decide whether you like something or not. I even looked it up just for those butt hurt stans:

Sometimes I read comments on certain sites and wonder if the Kpop world is populated with people that are super gullible. Did they really think that GD's hair grew overnight? Really?? There's no way people can be that credulous... but apparently they are.

Here's hoping everyone remembers that G-Dragon is about to comeback with a new album, and we all know what that means. New outfits, new swag, new bling and, most importantly, new hair. He's already had that black and white 'do for almost a month now and I'm sure he's tired of it.

Remember this: the next time GD changes something about himself and you don't like it? It's your opinion and we're all entitled to them. So relax.

Man, I hate this hair haha. As soon as I saw it I was like- no. But it's GD, so I still love him. It just looks messy and fake! Taeyang's hair though... So many more levels of worse. It's Taeyang though, so I still love him. hahaha.

ReplyDeleteI'm super excited about GD's comeback and Taeyang's comeback, but especially GD. Aren't they supposed to have a comeback later this year or is it all solo stuff they're focusing on? I forget.
The hair and pants are the worst. He needs to stop wearing pants that make his skinny tiny self look wide. Smh.

ReplyDeleteYEAH! So excited for their solo comebacks, I can't believe GD is doing another one so soon! Crazytimes! And I'm kind of excited to see what Taeyang gives us- he's no GD in terms of promotions, but I really like a lot of his solo stuff. 'Only Look at Me' was such a great MV, haha. Squealed at all the boys.
