Well, well, well! BoA has just released the mv for her new single, "Disturbance" featuring SHINee's Taemin and, judging from the comments, people are wow-ed by Taemin's performance and how cute TaeBoA look together. My thoughts? Baby Taemin is no more! Let's discuss:
Ok so the song isn't anything to write home about, and in fact sounds very similar to "Only One", but the Taemin makes this mv, and I'm sure that's exactly what SM Entertainment was going for.
The storyline is easy to follow. It starts out with Taemin being a boyfriend (husband??) who's very sad about something.
Maybe he and BoA are fighting, maybe he just can't stand her anymore and it hurts. Oh the angst!
I could watch Taemin be sad all day. First though, we get to watch TaeBoA during their happy times as they laugh about stuff and are cute and sweet and make me want to hug them and stuff.
Then we realize all is not as it seems in the TaeBoA household. He's pensive, he's staring off into space...
And he's so not happy with the way she makes him change his clothes before they go out.

This part actually wow-ed me a little, because of Taemin's acting.
Obviously this relationship is not going to work, but at the end, they try to remember better days.

Seriously though, Taemin and BoA make a super cute couple and I'm so happy for Taemin. He improved his singing 100% last year and now he's showing us that he can act his ass off. Go ahead, Taemin! Show us what you got! I'm so proud of this maknae, I can't even stand it.
Oh, and BoA looked good too, except was she wearing a culotte/onsie dress with a bow on it at one point??

All in all, an underwhelming song with a well-executed video that included some great acting by our not-baby Taemin.

Well, I agree about the song. As for Taemin, he was wonderful. He made the mv perfect. He is all grown up now, sniff sniff. His acting in this video was just great and I hope this lead to a kdrama and fast.
ReplyDeleteYes, because having two of the best dancers in Kpop appearing in a video and not, y'know, *dancing*, makes sense. Also, once again, I have hair issues. And the video was...*yawn*. And, er, not that fond of the song. Love them both, though!
ReplyDeleteLol I too was expecting dancing so I'm a bit disappointed, but mostly happy for Taemin. Will I watch it again and again? Nope. But I think Taemin will get even more exposure from this as an "acting-dol" so it's a good thing.

ReplyDelete2Min hasn't been the same in awhile. I think Taemin got annoyed with all that and I even remember the timeframe it happened in. There's even video of him being all pissy when Minho tries to grab him.

first time I watched this I only stare at Taemin, 2nd time I watched this I try to follow the story, 3rd time I watched this I just realized that this is BoA's MV not Taemin!
ReplyDeletePeople grown up, I still prefer Taemin in this MV than in the SHINee's MV coz he looks so mature, manly and HANDSOME. And he kissed BoA, just one question, why he didn't kiss her in the lips???
It IS like a Taemin mv right? They barely show BoA, I wonder how she felt about that. He does look great, doesn't he? I can't get over his manly face and mannerisms.
