Day 3 [Guest Blogger Week] Life After The Big Three

Day 3 of Guest Blogger Week is here and today I've got another fabulous blogger for you to meet.  Her name is La Shauna and she runs the site  Asia 24/7 .  She started the site in 2011 and it has slowly turned into a one stop site for all the things a Kpop fan looks for, from lyrics, to reviews, to news, and more.  La Shauna is here today to give you some of her thoughts on what life is like for idols after they leave the three biggest entertainment companies in Korea. Life After The Big Three Written by La Shauna of Asia 24/7 For any artists leaving their agency at the height of success can spell all kinds of trouble for their career. In Kpop we've seen artists, and agencies of all magnitudes go their separate ways. There’s rapper E.Via , now Tymee , who made a quiet split from her agency, Dline Media , due to lack of payment in 2012, and Hwayoung who was kicked out of T-ara and Core Contents Media causing one of the biggest controversies of 2012. Then

Jay Park Releases A Free Track, Is Full Of Win

My love affair with Jay Park continues, because today he tweeted a new totally FREE track, appropriately called " 2013 Appetizer ".  I'm just going to leave this here:

Oddness/Weirdness Does Top 10 Songs of 2012

It is currently the time of year when every kind of site, magazine, radio station, etc., starts making their "Top Whatever of 2012" lists and I wanted to jump in on that bandwagon with my First Annual Top 10 Songs of the Year list.  Of course I have to do it my way, and that entails me asking my friends for their help. My friends and I have been talking about Kpop music and music videos all year, so they're as qualified as I am to make judgements and pronouncements.  In other words, not qualified at all, but hey, that hasn't stopped us yet! Joining me will be MyMusicRadar! aka Stormy to her friends.  Like me, Stormy also runs a Kpop blog and Tumblr  and has written for this site before ; I couldn't have done this post without her.  Also joining us (for contrast) is Dasiey28, an avid Kpop enthusiast and Kdrama watcher extraordinaire.  If you ever need to find any Kpop mv or need to know where to watch a Kdrama, ask and she shall find.  She is the Kpop-finding

Videos of the Day: Phantom's "Burning" and Jay Park "I Love You" Dance Practice

Today was a good day for video releases, I must say.  I found two to titillate you... I hope.  I certainly liked them so now it's time to foist them on you in the hopes that you do too. So Jay Park released a dance practice video for "I Love You" today.  He's been releasing stuff left and right lately... I definitely have nothing bad to say about this one, unlike my opinion on his recently released "New Breed" mv,  Jay is preparing for his ' New Breed Asia Tour in Seoul' concert, along with Prepix dance crew, and uploaded this vid to let people check out what he's up to.

Jay Park Copies Zombie Boy for "New Breed" MV

Jay Park released his mv for the song "New Breed" today and it was pretty... underwhelming.  Before you read on, please note that I actually like Jay Park, so Jaywalkers need not go off on me.

Extra Good Things Happened in Kpop Today

First we'll start with.. (Link to the Bad Boy video  here ) The Real Perfect New Pop Song Is This K-Pop Hit, ‘Bad Boy’ Some here at Gawker argue that Canadian Power Puff Girl Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe' is the  new perfect pop song . While I have listened to that song twelve times in a row today, I have to disagree: ' Bad Boy,'  by K-pop boy group  Big Bang , is even more perfect. It's so perfect it  transcends language .

Jay Park- "Know Your Name" Dance Practice

I haven't featured a dance practice vid on the blog in awhile so I found the perfect one to post. Source:  jaybumaom0425 ,  Image:  dramacafe First of all, Jay Park is silly as hell. Secondly, I'm glad he posted this video up on his YT page because you can't tell from the mv just how good the dancing is.  I have to say, Jay Park and his dancers do some incredible isolations in this choreography. My absolute favorite part of the video is 3:04-3:15.  You really can't get a feel for just how cool-looking and well-done this part of the dance is until you see it close up here. Once again, some hot choreography from Jay's crew.  I got this info from his YT page for the vid: Choreography by Andrew Baterina(sorealcru), Jackie Lautchang(sorealcru), Hawooshin (prepix) Dancers: WASSUP,SOO,JOONY, ILL, JIHYE.

Video of the Day: Jay Park- Know Your Name feat. Dok2

Ok firstly I just want to give MAJOR props to Jay Park for featuring a black woman in his Kpop video.  I don't think I've seen a black woman in any other Kpop video, and I'm not talking about just passing through or anything.  Judging from the comments on YouTube for this mv, people are happy to see it.  Secondly, this video and song are full of swag.  Go on with your bad self, Jay! What I love:  Everything about it, especially the multi-Jay Parks.  The choreography?  Bangin'. What I dislike:  Not a thing. Forget video of the day... I'm thinking video of my week! Also: 2/7/12 By: Ghostwriter Yesterday,  Jay Park  unleashed his  music video for ” Know Your Name “  from his new album, ‘ New Breed ‘! The album was officially launched through iTunes on February 7th and it has been performing well on the charts. As of this writing, “New Breed” is topping the R&B/Soul Chart on iTunes in the United States, Australia, and Canada. Source:  allkpop Congr

Obligatory Eye Candy

I'm thinking Sundays should be obligatory eye candy day on Oddness/Weirdness.  It's easy on the eyes and I think it'll be fun for me AND you!  Let's start withhhh... Taeyang Rain Rain's just as hot back Lee Joon Jay Park Images: Credit where due

Video of the Day: Jay Park Star

Just saw Jay Park's new video for the song "Star" and I really like it a lot.  Make sure to watch in full screen 1080p for maximum cuteness factor. Enjoy! Source:  jaybumaom0425 What I love:  Well duhh... the dancing! Love Jay Park's musicality and moves... whoever choreographs his videos is extra good.  He also has the best crew dancing behind him and I could watch them dance all day.  I'm also liking the sets quite a bit.  It's not your typical Kpop set (side eyeing SM Entertainment right now) and it gives off a very warm vibe.   The song is also a well done American style RnB type slow jam and I have to say I'm loving the falsetto.  He's really good at seamlessly integrating that type of style into the Kpop world. What I find slightly amusing:  The "Oops!  I didn't know I had coffee foam on my lips... oh wait.. Are you kissing me?" scene.  Kinda awkwarrrrddd.  It was probably supposed to look sexy and cute but really he ended up

Video of the Day: Jay Park Star Teaser

Well really... teaser of the day. Just saw that this was posted up on Jay Park's YouTube page today and had to post it here so I could squee about it.  I'm quite excited that his new album "New Breed Part 1" will be coming out December 28th.  Cannot wait to see this whole video and hear the song!  Jay Park's dancing is just too good, PLUS he's a cutie... and he's looking all urban hotness in a fitted, a tee and baggy sweats.  :wipes brow: Source:  jaybumaom0425 Gah!

Videos of the Day: Kpop Dance Practice Videos

I love watching a good Kpop dance practice video almost as much as I enjoy watching a group or singer perform a song live.  This way you get to see them in their natural habitat (aka practice room, where they probably spend about 90% of their time) and you get to see the performance straight on with no annoying camera angles.  I mean, I love you KBS Music Bank and others, but really... sometimes I want to slap your camera men. Here are a few of my favorites... Rain first, of course! Hip Song :
