Editorials Past: Big Bang's T.O.P For Calvin Klein & 1st Look

When I found the official video for T.O.P from Big Bang 's November 2011  1st Look magazine editorial I knew I had to post this on the blog.   Calvin Klein and 1st Look flew T.O.P to Brooklyn, NY for this James Dean inspired editorial and had him walk around while they took pics.  All he had to do was stand there and look normal  yummy.  Then they had him do a voice over for the official video, in which he talks about things like: “I like the wind. I like the liberating wind.  In the midst of the wind, I am present.”   It's a bit much, but still... Mmmm...  Be sure to scroll down for the video.  Enjoy T.O.P's face, because I sure did. Editorials Past: G-Dragon For Numero Magazine October 2008

In celebration of G-Dragon making music for Nicola Formicetti's MUGLER menswear fall/winter 2013 show , I've managed to hunt down all these gothic-fantastic photos of GD from Numero magazine in 2008.  You know it's a good photo shoot when it's still relevant 6 years later. These are such great shots of GD doing what he does best, in a Tim Burton sort of way.  Kind of like an avant garde Beetlejuice, which is a perfect homage to Lady Gaga's aesthetic.  After taking a look at this, be sure to click on over to G-Dragon's Vogue Korea 2009 editorial .  It's also very avant garde and it's been updated with a ton more pics that I found today + more.

Editorials Past: f(x)'s Sulli for Singles Magazine October 2011

I haven't done one of these in awhile, but that's because I haven't come across any older kpop fashion editorials that really struck my fancy in awhile.  Today, though, I happened to see this one and was immediately charmed. This Singles magazine editorial features f(x)'s Sulli and it was taken in October of 2011, and even though it was taken a year ago, the fashion is still timely and stylish.  I happen to think Sulli looks gorgeous here.  I hope you enjoy it, because I certainly did.

Editorials Past: Big Bang for Arena Magazine June 2009

I decided I'd find an older Big Bang editorial to post in honor of G-Dragon's comeback; before it becomes all GD, all the time up in here (exaggerating... a little bit).  Boy did I find a good one.  I'd seen a couple of the G-Dragon pics around and about but I had never seen the whole thing.  I also hadn't realized this editorial was photographed by Terry Richardson (ugh) or that the whole group was featured in it.  Well, I was in for a treat and so will you, if you haven't seen it before. Some highlights: GD's nipples... Welll, his whole outfit.  Seungri's pants (!!), and Daesung??  Damnnn.  This also features T.O.P before he did whatever he did to his face.  Maybe it's his eyebrows??  You tell me.

Editorials Past: Shinee for Dazed and Confused '10

I've decided to add a new feature to Oddness/Weirdness.  I'm going to focus on, you guessed it, Kpop magazine editorials of the past.  There are so many incredible photoshoots from the past few years that I've wanted to feature on this blog, so it was an easy decision for me. My first post, featuring G-Dragon in Vogue Korea '09 , got quite a bit of interest.  Today I'm focusing on my other favorites, Shinee, in the January 2010 issue of Dazed and Confused Korea magazine.

UPDATED: G-Dragon for Vogue Korea '09

This Vogue Korea editorial is my favorite G-Dragon magazine photo shoot.  The shots are beautiful and the styling is impeccably over-the-top.  A combo of weird, fun, creepy and avant garde, this editorial needs no further words. UPDATED: I've been stalking these photos for years, so I keep finding random new pics someone uploaded.  Well, today I found a ton and they're all in color so I felt this post needed an update.  I also found the BTS video from the photo shoot so scroll down all the way to the end for that.  Enjoy...
